Our Real Estate UPDATE
This summer has been a time of change. Over the past few weeks, we have seen market prices stabilize and an increase in the number of telephone contacts and walk-in traffic in our office. We have also continued with a series of transactions both in resales and developer owned inventory. With the coming of the ski season, we expect to see more activity in the sales center and welcome you to stop in and check out our real estate listings, updates on what is happening in our market and new news and events.
Fall STIMULUS
For a limited time, when you purchase a residence out of our inventory of residences currently owned by Jackson Gore, you will receive four Flex Cards that can be used to purchase discounted lift passes at Okemo. Residences must go under a binding contract on or before November 15, 2009. Stop in or call the real estate sales center to get the details on this offer.
Another Great SUMMER
This summer marked the third year that we have welcomed the Vermont Symphony Orchestra to Jackson Gore. It was a great evening filled with world renowned orchestral music concluding with fireworks. The weather looked a little “iffy” but the concert went off without a hitch. Surrounding the symphony was the annual Jackson Gore Real Estate event weekend for our invited real estate prospects and owners. Activities included golf, a day at Plymouth State Park, kite making and cookie decorating. We have received lots of positive feedback from this weekend event..

The weekend following, Jackson Gore welcomed the Weston Playhouse and their version of Stuart Little. This was a free event for our guests, and kids of all ages watched and laughed along with Stuart as he goes through the story of his life with his “family”.

A first this year – and sure to be repeated year after year – was the Hops in the Hills program on August 8th. This first time event showcased breweries from around the region and some great food and music to go along with these brewed elixirs. Next year, maybe this gets combined with a chili cook-off? Who knows, but any way you look at it, a great summer afternoon, beers, bands and BBQ’s is not a bad way to go.

And what would be a summer at Jackson Gore without Camp Gokemo? This program returned for its second full year and the numbers were even stronger. Kids in both the Camp and Daycare programs enjoyed a full slate of summertime activities including hiking, swimming, arts and crafts and new this year - geo-caching. What’s geo-caching you say? Check out www.geocoaching.com to find out more!
Jackson Gore introduces DISC GOLF
Looking for a way to combine a nice walk around Jackson Gore, flipping a flying disc with one of your favorite sports – golf? You have entered the world of Disc Golf at Okemo on our popular course known as “The Maples at Okemo Disc Golf Course.” This is the inspiration of K.C. Gandee (Jackson Gore Recreation Manager) and Okemo employee and Disc Golf enthusiast Adam Ford. Together, they laid out and built the course with the help of our Mountain Operations team. The course is nine holes long and will soon be the host to the Ace Race Disc Golf Tournament. This is a fun event with some great prizes. Check out The Maples at Okemo Disc Golf Course

You can also participate in the Disc Golf Ace Race on October 3, 2009 at The Maples at Okemo. This is a fun event for Disc Golfers – young and old, new or experienced – who want to get out and have some fun.

Kudos: Sometimes we offer what our owners have to say to us regarding their experiences here at Jackson Gore. This from Joanie S., a new owner at Jackson Gore:
"Every minute of our recent weekend at Jackson Gore was fabulous!! We started with a delicious lunch at the Coleman Brook Tavern. On Friday night, we met some nice families at the owners' cocktail party, and the VSO and fireworks were the perfect ending to a great day!! We took full advantage of all the Saturday activities - an early morning workout at the health club, mountain hike and yoga, golf clinic and an afternoon at Echo Lake. The family barbeque was also lots of fun and what an ending with that beautiful rainbow across the valley. It was a wonderful day from start to finish."
